Manifesto

It's no secret.

Experimentation has proven its value throughout history.

However, experiments are not pervasive when building products or services from idea to scale. Experiments either never happen, are too late, are too big or are too infrequent.

We want to change this.

Experiment Engines is a bold experiment on a mission to unleash cultures of experimentation.

Our hypothesis is that we can serve customers better if we experiment more.

Why

We believe that in a fast changing, uncertain and emerging world, one of the most valuable organisational capabilities is experimentation.

The ability to experiment is democratised. AI, no-code, low-code and automation has lowered entry level skills. Releasing an app into the market is possible in a day. And the cost? Your time.

How

We do not distinguish between problem and solution, or discovery and delivery. A product or service is the result of many experiments.

We string experiment methods to manage progress and learning. The North Star is a desired outcome that benefits business, customer and the market.

What

An experiment engine is a structured and sustainable way of learning from idea to scale. Its interpretation lies within each of us.

We need experiment engines to build more learning organisations that better adapt to the ever changing needs of customers. It requires discipline, rigour, a set of well-developed mindsets and organisational structures that support these practices.

"All life is an experiment.
The more experiments you make the better."

Ralph Waldo Emerson
